How It All Began . . .

Troy and Tiffany met one cold winter's evening in Minneapolis, MN. Their first date - coffee at Sebastian Joe's and a trip to Walker Art Center, during which Troy shared his love of the font script Helvetica. Their second date (a month later) - Tiffany allowed Troy to pick her up and take her to the movies, thus starting their lifelong love of watching movies together, and ended with her taking him on a late night shopping trip to Kowalskis so that he could stock up on Yoplait and get rid of the Dannon Light & Fit he had in his fridge.

Then Troy up and left to LA to pursue his dreams of making it big in the movie industry. Thankfully, Tiffany was able to convince her bosses into a few work trips to LA to "check in" on a plant there. Then Troy moved to Santa Fe, NM for Paul. There were no excuses Tiffany could use to get out there and visit him then.

When Troy came back up to MN after Paul, Tiffany knew she didn't want to let him go again, so she went back to the bosses and talked them into allowing her to relocate to LA, "for school and for a new work experience".

Since then, they've both worked different jobs, he supported her through her part-time MBA program, they've cherished so many old & new friends, had a ton of great experiences, watched wayyyy more movies together, attended tons of sporting events (and saw too many WI teams lose), and spent hours talking, laughing, and adventuring. And now they're excited to take that next forever step - marriage. And they're happy to share that next step with you!

About a Girl - Tiffany!

Tiffany hails from Mamaroneck, NY, the youngest of two daughters born to Robert and Andrea Yizar (3 years behind her sister Ebony). After finishing high school she started her slow migration westward, picking up good friends and memories along the way. Her first stop was to Brown University in Providence where she studied chemical engineering and had way too much fun.

After that, it was off to Minnesota to work for General Mills-Yoplait as a package developer. After 3 years in MN, Tiffany had had enough of winters and moved to Los Angeles, still working for Yoplait. Recently, Tiffany moved on to work for MillerCoors brewing and completed her MBA from UCLA Anderson in June 2013.

Outside of all of that, Tiffany loves traveling, watching movies, dog fostering, gardening and enjoying great times with friends around a table with good food and good drink! She's also a deeply passionate sports fan, loving all things football, especially her New York football Giants!

About A Boy - Troy!

Troy was born to John and MaryAnne Lochner in Middleton, WI in the shadow of UW Madison, the youngest of three boys (Tim and Scott). During his childhood the family relocated across the border to Winona, MN, where he attended Cotter High and played in the marching band.

After high school, Troy went up north to St. John's University just outside of St. Cloud, MN, where he met great friends, made great memories, and got in some good travel experiences to S. Africa and Ireland.

Post-college, Troy stayed up near St. John's and started working on his budding movie career working productions with Quarterton. Through a little luck, he was picked up on his first major picture, A Serious Man by the Cohen brothers. From then on, Troy thought, well maybe this movie thinig is something that could become a career.

That inkling took him out to LA, which swiftly became an opportunity to work on set in Santa Fe, NM, where he (and Tiffany) got to experience living in the worst cell reception ever. After that, one movie has rolled into the next, and he eventually found his home within visual effects.

Outside of that, Troy loves photography, all things Mac (except for his recent deviation to the HTC One smartphone), and sports. His Wisconsin roots make him a Packer and Badger, but his MN upbringing also made him a Twins fan (go figure), and now that he's in LA, he supports the Kings, Lakers, and Clippers.

The Proposal

When it happened. . .Saturday, February 16, 2013

How he did it. . .

The proposal was in true Troy fashion.  He's in NYC for work, but had planned a post-Valentine's Day trip back home.  Prior to coming back, he had crafted a scheme with friends and co-workers as to how he'd pop the question.  And this is how it went down:

After making it back to the house, he hacked into my Facebook account and changed my relationship status to engaged.  From there, he played the waiting game, anticipating the moment when one of our friends would call to congratulate me.  A while later, our friend Anna called, offering best wishes for the engagement.  I had NO clue what she was referring to, and was clearly confused on our phone call, but when I turned to Troy he had the ring in his hand.  I promptly told Anna, "I'm going to have to call you back" and then commenced with the shock and happy tears.

I was so happy, the occasion was appropriately intimate, and I was so happy to have Anna share the experience with us!  A great start to this life-long journey of marriage together. . .
